A choice in the treatment of injury duodenum

Abstract

Duodenal injuries are rare, representing only 4 % of all intra-abdominal injuries. Duodenal lesions of the third portion are infrequent. The case of a male patient aged 23 presented stab wound at the region epigastric presenting lesion in third duodenal portion (Grade III according to the AAST classification for duodenal lesions) after the first surgery damage control evolves with a fistula of high debt for which it requires a second definitive surgery which gives us an option to the treatment of extensive lesions of duodenum as we will see in the present work. A review of the management of such lesions is performed.
